Helen is a registered clinical psychologist and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. Her doctoral thesis was in the area of psychological adjustment to diabetes type one. Therapy training was psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural.
She has experience with a range of disorders, including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, personality, family of origin problems, sleep, postnatal depression, self-esteem, addiction, relationship problems and workplace stress.
Helen has a special interest in longstanding depression in those who experience difficulty with self in terms of identity, purpose and compassion. She sees adults from the early to later stages of life. Underlying symptoms are often feelings that are hard to express or even know.
Therapy aims to understand the person with rapport, insight and self-determination.
